Andrea's Wine & Food Pairing Tool
The best wine and food pairing database on the Web!
More than 10,000 of my best wine and food pairings, from Cheeseburgers to Warm Chocolate Cake, Merlot to Mouton-Rothschild
How does it work? When you enter a wine or a dish, I give you lots of specific pairings, including Classic matches, Off the Beaten Path choices, Values and Best Bets. You can also click More Pairings to see a complete listing of all the wines or foods in my database that would pair well with your meal or bottle.
But, is there really a "classic" wine match for, say, Chicken Chow Mein? Not exactly, but there are lots of sommelier tricks of the trade for matching. And in my pairing book Great Tastes Made Simple, I share a lot of my personal matching principles. So it's easy for me to give precise pairing suggestions you can really use!

What was that wine I had? Here's the place where you can keep a record of what you tasted, and share your impressions with the rest of us. I'd love to hear from you!
Annoying restaurant wine pricing, Bordeaux futures, the hot-hot-hot! Shiraz grape: we cover the cool stuff, every month.
I'll also include seasonal tips: Thanksgiving wine, great gifts for wedding season, making the most of summer flavors like home-grown tomatoes and rose
There's a new article every month, and Members can access the entire archive of topics. If there's a wine, food or entertaining subject you'd like to see covered, click Ask Andrea to let me know.
Ask anything you want about wine, food, entertaining or pairing - I'd really, really love to hear from you!
A lot of people ask me about careers in wine - that's OK, too (would you believe: I used to be an investment banker...).
Every month I'll post the newest, most-asked Q&As. If I don't know the answer (or a good recommendation), I'll ask my Dean colleagues at The French Culinary Institute: Jacques Pepin, Jacques Torres, Andre Soltner, or Alain Sailhac, or I'll ask my chef friends from the James Beard Foundation.

From Shrimp Ceviche to Shallot-Rubbed Roast Chicken, these are recipes I love to cook because they're easy, and they pair beautifully with wine
Every month, I'll feature recipes from my favorite cookbook authors and chefs, and pair wines to them.
Although my pro culinary training is in classical French technique, I create recipes that emphasize flavor, health, value and speed -- because cooking is fun, but pairing, eating and sharing is--well, funner! Members can use the entire recipe archive, including recipes from my books and Entertaining Made Simple CDs. You can also preview recipes from my upcoming cookbook, GREAT DINNERS WITH WINE MADE SIMPLE.

With so many wines (and prices!) to choose from, it's easy to get overwhelmed and just choose the same old thing. My wine picks emphasize selections you can actually find and afford (with occasional special splurges!). It's fun to try new tastes, and these recommendations will help you get started.
